Is it the face only a mother could love? Some people think English Bulldogs are ugly. I adore them! I once looked after a puppy for three weeks before she travelled from Wales to Australia and from that moment on, I was in love with the breed.Meet Ursula - hey, wake up Ursula! She was walking around Menton with her owners until they stopped to chat and then she thought she'd have a nap. Ursula is six years old and lives with her family in Brescia, Italy.
All that travel does gets to a girl Jilly!

Did they happen to say what mischief she had found to injure her leg? By the size of that scar it was a doozie.
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely! I love the way she is lieing down. The only thing that concerns me about this breed and others like it are the "faults" which have been bred in so the Queen Anne legs which give mobility probs and the short snout which gives breathing difficulties.

ReplyDeleteWhat's there not to love about a girl like that ??? I start giggling uncontrollably when I see these ferocious looking creatures, with all those folds, and bared teeth, but hearts of gold...
@eloh, I didn't notice that scar until I saw it on the computer screen, and so I hadn't asked about it. Certainly she could walk about fine although frankly she is a little too heavy, even tho English bulldogs are heavy regardless.

It is so true, as one of the other readers said, that they look mean and grisly, but are so lovable and have hearts of gold! I love following your blog. Dogs are the best, and your photography really captures something special in each one.
