He looks fierce, doesn't he? As for the hole in one ear and the chunk out of the other one, perhaps he was used as a fighting dog in the past. Totally illegal, of course, and despicable. He was peering over a wrought iron fence in Gorbio village.

Hopefully he's treated better now. Poor dog.
Just yesterday , where I live a lady - who was just walking her little dog - had part of her face ripped off by two big dogs ... when the police turned up to investigate and the lady went off to the hospital they found fighting dogs at the place.
It is illegal here too ...... this is an evil "sport" !!!
I have a soft spot in my heart for this type of dog. They're so handsome, and when treated well and trained right they are wonderful dogs.
