Janga
Yesterday, we met Hypso - today we meet his friend, Janga, another beautiful Border Collie. Note the strange and adorable way she holds her ears!

Hypso
The unmistakeable look of a Border Collie - kind, intelligent, always wanting to please and crazy about a tennis ball. The work of this beautiful dog who lives in Gorbio - he's called Hypso - is to round up the ducks at night and get them into their sleeping quarters.

Border stares
These two Border Collies were waiting to go into the showring at the last Monaco Dog show. Border Collies have the most intense stare don't they? Such intelligent dogs.

Dog walker
A dog walker in Nice last night. She has seven dogs in her charge, although two are hidden. I nearly got run over!
Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

Agility Dogs
This beautiful border collie is waiting to compete in the agility competition in Menton. Alongside, in the cage, is his companion - looks a bit squashed but probably OK when she lies down.
I wonder if either of them won. Border collies are usually the best breed at agility.

Flannel
This beautiful Border Collie is relaxed, guarding his owners's bike, front legs gently crossed whilst he waits for his owner. He never takes his eyes off her as she takes her morning swim in the sea at Larvotto Beach. Flannel is 3 years old.

Fetch!
This border collie wasn't remotely interested in Menton's Lemon Festival. All she wanted was to have a stick thrown into the sea for her.

Gina's Eyes
Those eyes would stop a sheep at 50 metres, wouldn't they?
This young Border Collie (she's one year old) lives in Beausoleil, which forms part of the border of Monaco and France - doubt she'll find any sheep where she lives...
Her name is Gina and she lives with her owners, a lovely young couple who were walking her in the hills around the medieval village of Gorbio.

Wot, No Sheep in Monte Carlo?
You don't expect to see a Border Collie in Casino Square in Monaco. They would seem to belong in the Welsh hills where I lived a lifetime ago.
Yuna is a 5 year old smooth-coat Border Collie and wasn't remotely interested in having her photo taken. Despite my making all sorts of fascinating noises, she mostly turned her head away as you see in the smaller photo. I expect she was dreaming of hills and sheep, not Monte Carlo ladies and their smart clothes. Yuna was on holiday but normally lives in Trieste.

Dog Training - Bandit takes a nap
Of course, I'm kidding. Bandit, the Border Collie, isn't napping but closing his eyes to the sun.
Border Collies are so intelligent, but they do need training. They need to feel they are working.
This lovely boy is 3 years old and lives in the hill village of Sospel which is 20 kilometres above Menton.
