Devon

Devon is eight years old and lives with his family in Italy.  But today he's on holiday in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and like all of us, is feeling the heat.

Lolly

Boxer puppies are adorable... well all puppies are adorable!  I love Boxers but they are boisterous and very strong. She'll be a ball of muscle when she matures.  Her name is Lolly and I met her on the pedestrian street in Menton.

Time to Box

Much of Larvotto Beach in Monaco is closed for winter. But nothing will stop this lovely boxer asking me to throw the ball yet once more! His owners are closing up their shop for the winter.

Une grande partie de la plage du Larvotto à Monaco est fermée pour l'hiver. Mais rien ne peut empêcher de ce beau boxeur de me demander de lancer la balle une fois encore! Ses propriétaires ont fermé leur boutique pour l'hiver.

Play ball!

This playful Boxer belongs to one of the shop owners along Larvotto Beach in Monaco.  I had to keep putting down my camera, throw the ball for him and then try and take a shot as he rushed back for more! He was so friendly, I didn't want to leave.

As you can see much of Larvotto is boarded up against possible bad winter weather, but there are openings for for anyone who wants to have a swim or sunbathe.

Tessa

 This is Tessa, a 4 month old Boxer puppy, playing near the beach in Garavan, Menton.  She lives in Grasse.

Village dogs play in the square at beautiful Cervo in Liguria, Italy. 

Peggy

I love boxers but confess I don't take them at Pension Milou simply because they can be rather dominant with other dogs. Doesn't stop me liking them tho...

This is Peggy who is 4 years old and lives in Menton, which is where I met her the other day.

Cheeky

This is Cheeky, the boxer, looking adoringly at her owner, Nicky. They live in Monaco and it's no surprise to know they adore each other.

Spike

Is he a Boxer or a Bulldog? This 9 months old pup caught my eye walking through the Christmas Fair in Menton. Legs are too long for a bulldog yet too short for a boxer and right, he's a mix of the two. Isn't he gorgeous?

Spike lives in Genoa, Italy - just along the Ligurian coast from Menton.

Bassia - Hot Dog!

Bassia is hot! So were we all. He was having lunch at Stars n Bars on the port of Monaco - well, actually his owners were...

He sat in the shade with a large plastic bucket of water offered by the management.

Bassia lives in Monaco. He's three and a half years old and he's a mix of a Boxer and a Dogue de Bordeaux and you can clearly see both breeds in him. A sweetie.

Arturo

Today I was in Ventimiglia, across the Italian border. Sitting on a bench by the sea was this lovely boxer. He looks pretty comfortable, doesn't he. Arturo is six years old and lives just across the street from where he was sitting.

This post is for Glenda who has two dogs, one of whom (I believe) is a white Boxer. I've been looking for a white Boxer for you for ages Glenda but have a feeling I might never find one, so here's Arturo, the nearest I could get. All this by way of saying thankyou for being such a loyal reader of Riviera Dogs. I so appreciate it and I'm sure Arturo would give you a big wet sloppy lick if you were here.

Phanny

Today we are in Eze village, which is on the Moyenne Corniche between Monaco and Nice.

I much prefer to photograph a dog in sunlight as it gives life to the coat and to the picture and today, it was dull, overcast. No matter - I couldn't resist this wonderful old girl. Phanny is 10 years old and was on holiday with her owners who live in Paris.

I wonder if she thinks she looks fierce - I think she looks adorable. Unusual to see boxer with cut ears these days. Let's hope one day it will become illegal all over the world.

Lucky, the brother

About a week ago I snapped a boxer puppy, identical to this one, but he wouldn't keep still and the photographs were totally out of focus. A couple of days ago, walking along the pedestrian street in Menton, I saw him again and asked if I could have another go. The owner told me that this pup is the brother. So here is Lucky, who, like his brother, wouldn't look at the camera but at least he kept reasonably still.

Just 8 weeks old and probably daunted by so many people around him, I'm not surprised he didn't want to look at the camera.

Macy

Macy, this lovely 8 year old Boxer, was patiently waiting (see side photo) for her owner to have her nails done in the prestigious Metropole Centre in Monte Carlo.

She's owned by a very nice English lady who lives in Monaco. I didn't trim the top photo just so you could see the beautiful ironwork and marble floors and walls in the shopping centre.

Hasn't Macy got the most beautiful eyes?

Buddha the Boxer

Meet Buddha, the 4 month old Boxer puppy, playing here with a piece of string. He was attached to one of the market stalls in Menton (not the main market, but the one under the bridge on the way to the autoroute). His young owners proudly told me his father is a French champion and his grandfather is a World champion. I chopped the top of his head off in the photo below but I love it anyway. So forgive me. Scroll down and you'll see Buddha's French bulldog friend - 'don't take my bone' you can hear him say! Isn't he too adorable?!
