Brittany on a Balcony

A balcony in Gorbio overlooking the Mediterranean - and a Brittany spaniel enjoying the breeze.

Balcony dog

A Brittany spaniel relaxing on his balcony in Castellar - an ancient village above Menton.

After the party

The parade is over, confetti and streamers litter the ground - and just a touch of sun remains on this lovely Brittany Spaniel on his way home from the Lemon Festival in Menton.

Waiting for "Mama'

This Brittany spaniel is waiting for his owner to come out of the 'superette' in Gorbio village.

On patrol

This lovely dog patrols the land around the old mill in Gorbio. I don't know her name.  She looks to be a setter perhaps or mix between a Brittany Spaniel and a setter?

Ipy and Itou

How adorable are these two Brittany Spaniel brothers!  I met them in Monaco walking along Avenue Princesse Grace although their owners told me they also have a place in La Turbie where they can enjoy the countryside.

They were nearly 8 and a half weeks old when I took this photos.  Their names: Ipy and Itou.

Rita

This is Rita, a two and a half year old Brittany spaniel.  She's sitting by the 300 year old elm tree in Gorbio's square, waiting for her owners who are having a drink in the bar.  Her eyes never leave them. And in the photo below - they are coming, they are coming ...!

Rouky

Walking home from the Fete du Citron I saw this lovely dog asleep under a table. He posed with his special training lead but later his owner removed it for photo but then he wouldn't keep still. A lovely dog and active like many Brittany Spaniels.

Rouky is 2 years old and was on holiday in Menton from his home in Belgium.

The Doggie in the Window

This doggie in the window was in Castellar, a hill village 6 kilometres above Menton.

I looked up - the window is on the first floor of an old house and there he was - or she? - a lovely Brittany spaniel.

More of those gorgeous Newfoundlands on another day...

Tipsy and Natine

Brittany Spaniels and hard to tell them apart. In the smaller photo, we see Tipsy on the left, she's 7 and smaller than Natine who is 11 years old - on the right.

I'm not sure which one is in the main photo. They were in Gorbio village for the recent festival but they live in Mandelieu which is along the coast near to Cannes. We saw one of them, nose to nose, with a chihuahua HERE.

Tina

In the smaller photograph, and out of shot, is a bench - in the middle of Menton - and every day you'll find a group of men sitting here, chatting, passing the time of the day. And Tina, the 7-year old Brittany spaniel, is there too.

She's always ready for a game which is what is going on here amidst much laughter from the other men. He's pretending he's got a tennis ball, which he hasn't. Spaniels and tennis balls are inseparable, as we all know.

Altesse, the Market Dog

Altesse, (Highness in English) the Brittany spaniel lives in the Var and once a week, on a Friday, comes to Menton to sit with her owner at the antique fair there. Such an alert and intelligent look.

Give a dog a bone...

This Brittany spaniel wasn't really interested in looking at the camera. He wanted to concentrate on whoever or whatever is inside the door below. It's the kitchen entrance of a restaurant in Menton and presumably his owner is working inside.

Monaco meeting

When dogs meet, so do their owners. These two owners look on, proudly, politely and with big smiles on their faces. A 'Hello' that took place near the gardens opposite the Place des Moulins in Monaco.
