All tied up

This dog was tied up in a Naples street - so we said 'hello' to each other.  Hopefully his owner didn't leave him tied up for too long.

Batman

Yesterday I met this cute pup at the Fete de la Branda in Gorbio village. He belongs to the family who sell garlic.  Batman is 4 months old and is a mix of a beagle and a French bulldog.  He lives near to Toulon.

Naples Dog Bark (Thiago)

Just look at the expression on this lady's face and you can see the pride she has in her dog.  And love for him as she walks from the Spanish quarter of Naples every day all the way to the dog park so he can run and play with the others. He mostly stays with her though as his instinct is to guard her. His name is Thiago and he's a Rottweiler mix.

Naples Dog Park (Ivy and Theodore)

A dog park in a city is such a great idea. Here,  in Naples,  Ivy, the American Staff and Theodore, a Golden Retriever mix are having the best fun - even if it does look as if they are having a fracas. They are not!

Saved!

This photograph was taken one day after this lovely dog was given her new forever home. No wonder she is looking a little bewildered.

Art

The dog's owners are looking at art - but then so am I! Isn't he beautiful!

Ours under the fig tree

This is Ours, under the fig tree.  Ours means Bear in French.  He's a hunting dog who had been in a refuge for two and half years before he came to live with me. .  He's a wonderful dog, but terrified of the world and hides whenever I have a visitor - this after over a year of living here.   It's probably not going to improve - he's even scared of the wind!

But he's happy now- so joyful at food times and when I come home - and trusts me completely - it goes without saying 'he's my beautiful boy' and I couldn't live without him!

BaĂŻka and Antoine

We met BaĂŻka a couple of days ago - at the time,  looking rather scare. Here she has settled with her gentle owner, Antoine.  They live in Gorbio.   The rapport between these two is lovely to see.  Lucky dog, lucky owner.
