Dogue de Bordeaux

Guard dog in Naples: a fierce looking Dogue de Bordeaux called Tequila who has a beautiful soft side to her.  She lives in the Spanish quarter of Naples.

Dogue in need of Botox...

This Dogue de Bordeaux is in need of some Botox - and failing that, some good quality moisturiser ...

I saw him in the Jardin Bioves in Menton over Christmas but he wasn't very friendly so I didn't get near enough to ask his owner his name.

Bassia - Hot Dog!

Bassia is hot! So were we all. He was having lunch at Stars n Bars on the port of Monaco - well, actually his owners were...

He sat in the shade with a large plastic bucket of water offered by the management.

Bassia lives in Monaco. He's three and a half years old and he's a mix of a Boxer and a Dogue de Bordeaux and you can clearly see both breeds in him. A sweetie.

Emma, the Show Dog

Emma looks so fierce, doesn't she? In fact, she's a total softie. She's big - I thought 'she' was a 'he' until his owner told me 'he' was called Emma. She's only 14 months old so isn't really much more than one big gorgeous puppy.

Emma, a beautiful Dogue de Bordeaux (one of the oldest French breeds) was in Menton having been exhibited that day at the San Remo show, just along the coast, in Italy. She lives near to Draguignan in the Var. See how she matches her owner's shoes!

Davinci, the Dogue de Bordeaux

This is the first Dogue de Bordeaux we've seen on Riviera Dogs. Davinci is a 3 and a half month old puppy having fun at the Christmas Fair in Monaco. He lives in Beausoleil, which is the French town adjoining the north of Monaco.

The Dogue de Bordeaux, a Mastiff type of dog, is apparently one of the oldest breeds in France. You can read more by clicking on the link.

Patience

Another dog sitting patiently with her owner waiting for the Blessing on the Animals in Menton. I don't know if she is a Boxer, a Mastiff, or a mix of the two. In the first photo she looks to be a boxer, in the second, that width of jaw and longer muzzle, she looks a mastiff. Anyone an idea?

I don't know her name - just loved that she sat so patiently with no lead - waiting - and such an intense expression as if she knew every word that was being said.

PS: Thanks 'Anonymous' who thinks she is a Dogue de Bordeaux and I totally agree.
