This is Shar-pei looking at the camera very intently at the recent Fete de la Branda in Gorbio village.

Seping

A handsome Shar-pei who lives in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. This 7 year old was out for a run along the promenade with her owner.

The Wrinkly Puppy

This lovely puppy - 4 months - was at a Bring and Buy sale in Garavan, Menton. You can see another photo of this puppy, with his owner's shadow (!) at Menton Daily Photo. Just click on the link.

The Statue

This handsome Shar-pei was on the beach in Carnoles - part of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and he didn't move for at least 10 minutes. He stood in this position - just like a statue. His owner patiently waited as you see in the small photo (click to enlarge). Eventually, the Shar-pei saw a small dog approaching him and then he took off to say Hello to him.

Monaco Dog Show - Ally & Vzan

Two Shar-peis at the show. Above you see Ally - she's the girl. And with her below, is Vzan, the male. Just look at Ally's wrinkles. Enough to make you look in the mirror and feel your own skin is perfect! These two come from Toulouse in south-western France.

Dogs at Menton's Arabian Horse Show - 2

Here's another dog at the Arabian Horse Show in Menton - there seemed to be almost as many dogs as horses! I posted a photo of a Shar-pei a few days ago - here's another - this one, however, is just waiting outside one of the horse boxes. She was here for hours, waiting, waiting. Dogs are so patient, aren't they?

Happily walking along the Menton walking street, this little chap seems quite content. Wonder what he's thinking...

On guard!

This Shar-pei ran from one gate to another as he guarded his house by the sea in Cap Martin, but at no point did he bark at me. Perhaps he's used to people walking past him and is a bit blasé about the whole thing. The breed originated in China and has deep wrinkles and a blue-black tongue.
