Fiston

Fiston is the Croc'antine dog.  Croc'antine is a small restaurant in Menton, opposite the Cocteau Musuem, where you'll eat lovely freshly food, cooked and served by Fiston's charming owners.  I don't think dog biscuits are on the menu though ...

Blow Dry

This old shih-tzu has just been bathed and is in the drying cabinet at a friend's grooming salon in Menton.  Behind the glass, the warm air blows her hair dry.

Billie and ball

Billie, the Shih-tzu.  She was named after Billie-Jean King, the tennis player so no wonder she is guarding her ball!

Boutchette and Galinette

Sometimes a girl just to have something large and warm to snuggle up to! 

Boutchette, the Basset Hound acts as a comfy pillow for her housemate, Galinette, the Shih-tzu. These two belong to the fabulous Restaurant Beausejour in Gorbio.

Praline

This cute little bundle was waiting for the priest to arrive for the 'Blessing of the Animals'  in Gorbio recently. She's called Praline and she's 10 years old.

A Lazy Sunday Walk

The shih-tzu in the distance is called Billy - even though she's a girl.  She was named for Billy Jean King.  The part-Husky is called Lucky and the Beagle is Caillou.  Billy belongs to my friend Carla and Lucky and Caillou are staying with her.

If you've got a good memory you might recognise little Shaka. He made his first appearance on Riviera Dogs in September 2008. (click link) when he was 9 years old.

Here he is again, this time in his winter coat and of course an older gentleman now but looking really fit.   He's a mix between a Shihtzu and a Yorkshire terrier and lives in the village of Gorbio with his really nice owner, Muriel. 

Flying Galinette

Yesterday we saw Boutchette, one of the Restaurant Beausejour dogs in Gorbio - with her bone.  Today, we see Boutchette's friend, the Shih-tzu, Galinette, who saw a dog across the square and decided she could fly!

She is called Galinette from the book Manon des Sources by Marcel Pagnol.

Billie-Jean

My friend Carla and I went for a walk above Gorbio yesterday - she had to vote. Here's a snap of her dog Billie, named for Billie-Jean King or perhaps for the Elton John song, I'm not sure.

Billie is around 7 years old now and lives in Gorbio.

The 'Beausejour' Dogs

Regular visitors to Riviera Dogs will have met the Beausejour dogs of Gorbio before. On the chair is Boutchette and at her feet is the most recent addition to the family, Galinette.

Seems to me that Boutchette has the most comfortable seat in the house! Not that all the seats aren't comfortable. We had dinner the night I took these shots and it was fabulous!

Naughty Boutchette tho appears to be pregnant and no one knows who the 'daddy is...in fact tho, she isn't. Turns out she has a phantom pregnancy. Sigh of relief all round.
