Domino and Nellie

Meet 5-year old Domino and Nellie.  Domino is wearing the collar, and Nellie, the harness.

The Westie and the Bichon

This is a similar photo to the one I put on Monte Carlo Daily Photo today.  This adorable Westie and Bichon are on the terrace of a bar/restaurant in the beautiful medieval village of Eze, which is along the coast between Monaco and Nice. I don't know the names of the dogs as I didn't chat to the owners on this occasion.

The Monte Carlo Westies

Two Westies hoping for a morsel from their owners who are having a coffee and a croissant in the luxurious Metropole centre in Monte Carlo. 

They are mother and son.  Mother in the foreground is called Twiggy and she's 5 years old. Her son is 2 and he's called Tuky.

They live in Monaco. 

Wash and Brush Up Westie

My friend Carla has a grooming salon in Menton - it's near to the market in the Old Town.  I often call in to see her to chat and of course I have to snap any dog on the table. This lovely Westie had been washed, was more or less dry and is about to have a trim.  I forgot to ask his or her name but isn't he an absolute cutie ...

Ted

Ted, the Westie and Cilla, the Scottie, are saying at Pension Milou at the moment. When their owners first called I said 'No.' I love both breeds but have had bad experiences in the past with them being snappy with other dogs. So 'no' it was. Later, my vet called and asked if I'd reconsider and she confirmed they have wonderful temperaments - and goodness, they do. These two are angels.

They were bred in the UK, have been living in Las Vegas for a while but now they live in Monaco. We'll meet Ted's other half, Cilla, another time.

And how cute is Ted? That's Roxy, the Cavalier, in the background, by the way.

The Dog who wasn't interested...

The most difficult dogs to photograph are terriers because they are so active, but even so most will look at me at some point. This dog refused. Nothing was going to make him look at me - all the noises I made, cluck cluck sounds, eee eee eee sounds, etc. Yes, you can laugh! Of course not all terriers are like this, but this little chap, called Bonbon, didn't want to know anything about having his photo taken or even glancing at me.

So here's the best I could do. Bonbon is five years old and lives in Italy and in Menton where his family have a second home.

Whisky - the Lingerie Dog

Whisky, the West Highland White terrier, belongs to one of the luxury lingerie shops in the Metropole Centre in Monte Carlo. Find a shop called Elle and you'll find Whisky. Whisky is 7 years young.

The owners are having separate conversations but plainly the dogs are not.

I wonder if this lady is Scottish. She could be, dressed as she is in tartan to complement her Scottish breed: a West Highland White terrier. Here they are crossing the road in Carnoles at Roquebrune cap Martin.
