Milou

It was a dull afternoon walking away from the Lemon Festival in Menton and this grey and white Fox terrier has no light on his coat. I thought the photo might look better in Black and White and think it does.

Milou (he was Tintin's dog, of course) is a grey and white Fox Terrier and he's 14 - looks good, doesn't he? Don't you just love the way he sits in the smaller photo.

He was with his owner on holiday from Monbéliard in north-eastern France. Such a pity for all the visitors that we have such lousy weather. At this moment it's raining really heavily.

Betty and Classic Week

Copyright 2009 Riviera Dogs. All rights reserved

Betty was standing with her owner by the port of Monaco during Classic Week. Classic Week is when all the famous sailing yachts of the world take part in competition. Also you see the Tall Ships - all much more fun than the massive mega yachts of the rich and famous, although you still have to be rich to own a sailing yacht.

Betty is one year old and lives in England and was visiting Monaco specially for the event.

Jicky

Meet Jicky, a 14 year old Wire-Fox Terrier. In the smaller photograph (click to enlarge) you see the granddaughter of Jicky's owner. Lois loves Grandma's dog. She lives in Orleans, the daugher of a Scottish father and a French mother so she will grow up to be bi-lingual - not struggle like the rest of us. Grandma, granddaughter and Jicky were in Gorbio for the Blessing of the Animals.

The Château Dog

This lovely old Wire Fox Terrier belongs to the lady who sells the entrance tickets at the castle in Roquebrune village. Here you see her lying in the sunshine, half asleep - and in the photo below she's eating a snack alongside her owner at one of the village restaurants. You can see the castle of Roquebrune by clicking on the link.

Hey me, look at me!

These two Wire Fox Terriers were tied up, waiting for their owner outside Carrefour, the supermarket in Monaco. The young one thought it great fun to jump for joy and show what a happy dog she is. When the owner returned we briefly discussed the breed and I said they can be a bit sharp with other dogs. She said provided an owner is tough enough, the dog will behave and certainly she had her two under control - and very happy they were too. The one jumping up is 4 and the other one around 10. A great rapport between dogs and owner here.
